About this Project

This is a joint research project occurred among six Institutes: the Institute for materials research (IMR), Tohoku University; the Joining and Welding Research Institute (JWRI), Osaka University; the Materials and Structure Laboratory (MSL), Tokyo Institute of Technology; the Eco-Topyia Science Institute (ESI), Nagoya University; the Institute of Biomaterials and Bioenginnering (IBB), Tokyo Medical and Dental University; and the Institute for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (INN), Waseda University. This project appears as a continued one of the previous IMR-JWRI-MSL joint research (2005-2010), and lasts for six years from April 2010. The aim of this project is to develop advanced metallic and inorganic materials with new microstructures, properties and functionalities, and to explore their applications as environmental and energy materials, electronic materials, and biomedical materials, as well. Our research covers a wide range of topics from the fundamental science to the practical use of these advanced materials.
